Your Feeback on the Conflict in Iraq

The Jokester received a variety of responses to the last joke about Iraq – I do not intend to have this website become a forum for discussion on Iraq or the Actions of the American, British and Australian Governments, but felt it necessary to illustrate that the Jokester's readers truly reside world wide and have diverse views on the conflict currently occurring. So, rather than send a joke today, I submit a sampling of your comments:

In view the outrageously poor judgment you demonstrated as Editor-in-Chief of The Jokester please view the following website provided by The Government of Canada www.march21.com

Today Canadians are observing International Day For The Elimination Of Racism - STOP IT NOW !

It is highly inappropriate to distribute racist jokes, degrading to Arabs, to the US troops presently serving in The Persian Gulf and to North American households.

If you are so inclined, visit the Department of Defense web page below and add your name to the list of folks thanking the men and women of the US military services for defending our freedom. The compiled list of names will be sent out to our soldiers at the end of the month. We should ALL be on that list! It's National Military Appreciation Month, so please pass it on to your email friends. So far, more than 7.25 million names have been compiled http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html

TRYING TO HELP

By Dennis Miller {Used without Permission nor validated that Mr Miller did in fact author this}

All the rhetoric on whether or not we should go to war against Iraq has got my insane little brain spinning like a roulette wheel. I enjoy reading opinions from both sides, but I have detected a hint of confusion from some of you.As I was reading the paper recently, I was reminded of the best advice someone ever gave me. He told me about the KISS method ("Keep it Simple, Stupid"). So, with this as a theme, I'd like to apply this theory for those who don't quite get it. My hope is that we can simplify things a bit and recognize a few important facts.

Here are 10 things to consider when voicing an opinion on this important issue:

  1. President Bush and Saddam Hussein.....Hussein is the bad guy.
  2. If you have faith in the United Nations to do the right thing, keep this in mind. They have Libya heading the Committee on Human Rights and Iraq heading the Global Disarmament Committee. Do your own math here.
  3. If you use Google Search and type in "French Military Victories," your reply will be "Did you mean French Military Defeats?"
  4. If your only anti-war slogan is "No war for oil," sue your school district for allowing you to slip through the cracks and robbing you of the education you deserve.
  5. Saddam and Bin Laden will not seek United Nations approval before they try to kill us.
  6. Despite what some seem to believe, Martin Sheen is NOT the President. He plays one on T.V.
  7. Even if you are anti-war, you are still an "Infidel" and Bin Laden wants you dead, too.
  8. If you believe in a "vast right-wing conspiracy," but you do not believe in the danger that Hussein poses, quit hanging out with the Dell computer dude.
  9. We are not trying to liberate them.
  10. Whether you are for military action, or against it, our young men and women overseas are fighting for us to defend our right to speak out. We all need to support them without reservation.

I hope this helps

SEVERE EARTHQUAKE IN FRANCE

Today it was reported that severe earthquakes have occurred in 10 different locations in France. The severity was measured in excess of 10 on the Richter Scale. The cause was the 56,681 dead American soldiers buried in French soil rolling over in their graves. According to the American Battle Monuments Commission there are 26,255 Yankee dead from World War I buried in 4 cemeteries in France. There are 30,426 American dead from World War II buried in 6 cemeteries in France. These 56,681 brave American heroes died in their youth to liberate a country which is guilty of shameful unspeakable behavior in the 21st century. May the United States of America never forget their sacrifice as we find ways to forcefully deal with the Godforsaken unappreciative, forgetful country of France! PASS THIS AROUND! Maybe it will get to someone in France!!

You forgot to mention the 35,000 dead Australians and New Zealanders [ANZACs] or the 300,000 British Commonwealth troops killed in the liberation of France during World War 1. Australia was in the Great war from August 1914 until 11a.m. on 11 November 1918.

America declared war in 1916 (the sinking of the Lusitania by a German U-Boat) but did not send troops until 1917, because of U.S. Government Neutrality Policy. Which was the same policy of the U.S. Government in September 1939 when war broke out in Europe and the U.S.A. did not wish to participate until the Japanese Government airmailed an invitation to join at Pearl Harbour in December 1941.

You really should include those 335,000 men whose grand children are now part of the Coalition against Iraq.

Did you hear that Greece is considering joining the coalition against Iraq? They only have one condition. They want to attack Iraq from the rear.
